Meesha's 40th

This is a cake I did for my friends 40th birthday. The party theme was "Prom". She gave me the beading ribbon(but not enough for both cakes) and told me to do what I could with it. So this is about all I could do and keep it more on the elegant side.

Bottle of wine for Deb's birthday

My 3 best friends and I spent a wonderful day together as a surprise for one of the girls, Debbie. We took her to see "Eat, Pray, Love", then cooked a delicious Italian meal. Chicken Marsala, Pasta Salad, Spaghetti and a bottle of "Eat, Pray, Love" wine. Then swimming. This is the surprise cake I made for Deb. The "crate" is Chocolate with Hazelnut filling and the "bottle" is red velvet. This was one of those very special days that we don't get to do often enough. Lots of laughs, good food, great friends, and a little wine to blend it all together.

Antelma's wedding cake

This is a wedding cake I did for a co-worker. All 5 tiers are white cake. I did different fillings...Bavarian cream, chocolate mousse, lemon and strawberry.
The cake is all buttercream. It was incredibly hot out today during delivery, so I was happy it wasn't fondant or I worry it would have drooped.

Crystal's 18th birthday

The cake that I donated to an auction to raise money for Children's Miracle Network was won by a co-worker named Jeannie. She chose the colors and flavor of cake (strawberry) and had me deliver it to her niece who turned 18. They were very surprised as they only knew that something was being delivered but did not know what it was. They loved it. And it was a joy for me to surprise this family with a cake.
Happy Birthday Crystal!

Cupcakes and Lace Booties

Chocolate on Chocolate, White on white cupcakes. These were for my son's-girlfriends-sister's-baby..did you follow that?
They were for her Christening. She wanted lavender flowers in different shades/sizes. So I made them out of fondant along with the leaves.
The baby booties were made out of gumpaste. I cut pieces of lace (edible lace that I made!) and overlayed it on the pieces before I made the shoes. I loved how they turned out.

Donation for Children's Miracle Network

This is a cake that I took to work (Sam's Club) to put up for auction for CMN. We have been trying to raise money for this great cause and with one week left, associates were asked to donate items. I decided on a small cake (feeds 20). Can't wait to see who wins it!

"St. Jude by the Seashore"

This is the cake I made to donate to St.Jude hospital's Cancer Survivor celebration. The theme this year was "St.Jude by the seashore". The sandals are marble cake with almond filling and icing. The pail is chocolate cake with almond filling/icing. The towel and glasses are fondant. The sand castle in the back is made out of chocolate. I asked some of my past and present students if they would like to donate cakes to be raffled off to the cancer patients. We had a total of 8 cakes. Thank you Meesha, Chandler, Samantha, Paula, Arely & Janet, Sandy and Jonel for your beautifully decorated cakes. A special "thank you" to Jonel, her husband Eric (whom I work with at Sam's club) and their son, Brandon, for sticking around and volunteering at the event.
It was a lot of fun. The survivors LOVED their cakes that they won. I donated cakes last year but was not able to go to the event. This year I volunteered and I have to give a HUGE pat on the back to Executive Chef Will Gotay, my friend and head chef at St.Jude hospital, for putting on this wonderful event, complete with live music, games, face painting, and lots of delicious food and drinks. This is one of those events that I want to be a part of every year!

Lori and Jay's Big Celebration!

This cake was for multiple celebrations. The couple recently married, they are moving away, Lori is retiring and Lori turned 50. I didn't get photos of all sides, but on the top tier of the cake, I included photos of their two dogs, and on the bottom tier, I included "Adios Orange County" (with a photo of tinkerbell), "Bye Bye California Beach's", "So long California" (with the outline of the Cali. state), a logo from their favorite restaurant and a couple of other things that they will miss here in California.
I wish them the best of luck.
